Why this is its own service
Plenty of people have a garage of perfectly good furniture and no way to move it. The sofa is fine, the dining set is fine, and a donation center will happily take both if somebody can get them there.
That somebody is usually the problem. Most centers will not collect a dresser from an upstairs bedroom, and a sedan does not hold a sectional. We load it, drive it and hand it over, and you get your Saturday back.
Tax receipts
The receipt comes from the donation center, not from us. Where the center offers one, we will ask for it in your name and pass it to you. What the donation is worth on your return is between you and your accountant, and we are not going to put a number on it.
What centers will and will not take
Usable furniture, working appliances, clean household goods and undamaged mattresses in many cases. What almost nobody accepts is stained upholstery, broken particle board, anything water damaged, and cribs or car seats past their date.
Send photos and we will tell you honestly which parts are donation material and which are not. Dumping unusable furniture on a charity is not a donation, it is making your disposal their problem, and centers get enough of that already.
Mixed loads
Most jobs are a bit of both. The good pieces go to a donation center, metal goes to scrap, electronics go to recycling, and only what is genuinely finished goes to the transfer station. One pickup, one flat price, and we can tell you where each part ended up.
Questions
Does a donation haul cost less?
No, the price is the same. The truck, the labor and the drive are the same work, and the donation center does not pay us to bring things.
Will I get a tax receipt?
Where the donation center offers one, we ask for it in your name and pass it to you. We do not issue receipts ourselves or place a value on the goods.
What if they refuse some of it?
Whatever the center turns away stays on the truck and goes to recycling or the transfer station. You are not left with it.
Which center do you use?
Whichever is taking the kind of goods you have that week. Tell us if you have a preference and we will try to use it.
Can you do donation and junk in one trip?
Yes, that is most jobs. Good pieces to donation, the rest disposed of properly.
